Gravatars on WordPress are essentially profile pictures (similar to FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram…). When you make a post, this will be the image beside your name that indicates who you are. It is automatically generated by WordPress, but you can change it by editing your WordPress profile. Here’s how you do it:
Log in to your WordPress account.
Hover your mouse over “Howdy, ____” in the top right hand corner of your screen and click “Edit Profile”.
Scroll down until you see the section called “Profile Picture”. Click the link that says “You can change your profile picture on Gravatar”
Sign in to Gravatar using your WordPress account and add your image by clicking “My Gravatars -> Add a new image”
Upload and crop your image! If your image isn’t loading, it may be too big. Reduce your file size by duplicating your file and saving it in Photoshop as a low-quality JPEG. (Note: there is a 1MB file size limit.)
Select your image by clicking it under “Pick new image” and click “Confirm”.
Congrats! You should now have a customized Gravatar.
